Simone Grimes serves as Special Advisor at the Federal Housing Finance Agency in the Division of Conservatorship and is the head of the Agency’s Program Management Office.  In this capacity she provides executive leadership and support for a wide range of operational and mission critical initiatives and provides credible, innovative, and strategic advice on decisions impacting the conservatorship of the nation’s two largest housing finance companies.  


Simone has twelve years of experience in the financial services industry, including six years in housing finance and six years in consulting and public accounting (Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Grant Thornton etc.) where she worked with large banks, private equity funds, investment management companies, insurance companies as well as both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.  

In a prior role, Simone launched and grew two successful businesses which included forming the businesses, raising capital, growing the businesses and developing and leading a successful exit strategy.   Simone is passionate about setting strategic priorities and working with companies to grow their business. Throughout her career, Simone’s work has often involved working in close partnership with cross-functional teams to identify potential new business opportunities and develop plans and action steps to secure such business, both on a local and regional basis.

In addition to working with FHFA, Simone teaches classes nationally and internationally for the Institute of Internal Auditors on various topics such as Enterprise Risk Management, Audit Techniques, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption.  

Simone has an MBA from Cornell University, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor.
