Accelerate(her) presents: Leading with Empathy
Thursday, January 11, 2024, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EDT
Category: Accelerate(her)

We’ve all had a “bad” boss before. We’ve all worked in places where we felt unseen as human beings with lives outside of the 9-5. The goal of this presentation is to bring awareness to the need for empathy and emotional intelligence in the workplace and as a leader in addition to how you can improve empathy and emotional intelligence on your teams.

  • What is empathy and emotional intelligence?
  • Great – so why does that matter at work?
  • How internal or unconscious biases affect empathy.
  • Checking your emotional intelligence.
  • Methods/suggestions/ideas for discussing empathy and emotional intelligence with your teams.
  • How to work with team leaders or managers to improve/discuss empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • How to work with large teams/full teams on empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • Resources to use.

What participants will leave with: Participants will leave with a new look at how empathy and emotional intelligence affect working relationships, how to work better with people who have different personalities or life experiences than our own, and how to work with their teams to discuss and improve empathy and emotional intelligence.
