WIT’s Communications Committee is responsible for raising the profile of WIT through public relations (PR), social media, and other marketing efforts. The committee is involved in developing WIT messaging and marketing materials as well as conducting outreach to promote events and activities. 

Activity and Programs

The Communications Committee meets regularly to coordinate efforts around PR and content development. They work closely with the WIT staff to provide needed support across the organization. The committee also manages the work of sponsor PR/marketing agencies that provide pro bono support. 

Volunteering Opportunity

The Communications Committee provides ample opportunities for those looking to grow their communications and marketing expertise. It also is a great way for women in technical positions to flex their creative muscles. 

The Communications Committee is always seeking creative, dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to assist with all facets of communications including: 

  • Brand Marketing
  • Publicity and Media Relations
  • Social Media
  • Liaising with WIT committees and Special Events
  • Editing Support for Newsletters (WIT.wire, etc.) and event flyers
  • Digital/Online media creation (Audio, Photo, Video)
  • Graphics and design services
  • Drafting website and email content
