Program Overview

The Leadership Foundry (TLF) program helps participants develop the core competencies needed to successfully serve on a corporate board. The ten-month program includes the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) AccelerateTM Program, consisting of their six-month Virtual Director Professionalism training, an intensive board training program, as well as support for NACD certification study groups, training and networking events to make meaningful connections and build trusted relationships throughout the program.

The Leadership Foundry cohort should plan to take the NACD Certification Exam after completing the Virtual Director Professionalism training and anytime up to two years after the program launch. After passing, members will earn the NACD Directorship Certification® (NACD.DC™). In addition, the cohort member receives a 2-year NACD membership, and once certified, can gain visibility on the Equilar ExecAtlas searchable database used by recruiters for board positions. Cohort members become part of a strong network of TLF Alumnae.

Each cohort is limited to 5-10 participants who are women at the C-suite and senior executive levels and ideally do not currently serve as a paid director of a legal entity but are ready for board service within the next 2-3 years. Program participants should be available to attend evening events, dedicate the time to study and pass the NACD certification exam and become part of an enriching network of women pursuing similar goals.
