The Women in Technology Leadership Awards recognize and honor female leaders whose achievements, mentorship, and contributions to the community align with the WIT mission of advancing women in technology from the classroom to the boardroom. The Leadership Awards are run by an all-volunteer committee of WIT members.
Activity and Programs
The committee meets bi-weekly by teleconference and occasionally in person. These meetings serve as coordination points for the various activities that include:
- Nomination and Judging – Shepherd the nomination criteria and process for eligible women in the DC, MD and VA area. Select judges and manage the evaluation process.
- Sponsorship and Table Sales – In partnership with the WIT Sponsorship Committee, find companies to be sponsors and sell individual tickets to the event. Maintain relationships with sponsors and help ensure sponsors identify event attendees to fill tables.
The 2024 Leadership Awards Banquet will be held May 9, 2024 in Reston, VA.
