Women in Technology Announces New Leadership for 2017-2018 Year
Tysons Corner, VA, August 7, 2017 – Women in Technology (WIT), a renowned professional association dedicated to the advancement of women in technology, has announced its 2017-2018 Board of Directors. The organization, which focuses on the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia technology community, has also expanded its Leadership team to meet increased demand for services and programs among Washington’s WIT community. Leading the organization as this year’s President is Trish Barber, Founder of 3 Ways Digital. Prior to assuming the Presidential role, Trish served as a Board Member at Large for the Emerging Leaders Special Interest Group (SIG) and as Chair for the Girls in Technology program.
“Women in Technology has been serving women in the greater DC region for over 20 years and we think there's no better time for women to be moving their careers forward,” said Trish Barber. “Companies in the DC Metro area are so eager to have women in leadership roles, support the STEM pipeline, identify female leaders who are great examples for younger women to follow and find ways to become more family friendly in support of women. WIT helps individuals and companies succeed. Companies recognize that an affiliation with WIT magnifies their internal efforts in these areas. In 2017/18 WIT will highlight leadership and is looking forward to identifying and developing women leaders from the classroom to the boardroom.”
